A Love Note to the "Helpers"

~One of the deep secrets of life is that all that is really worth doing, is what we do for others~ Lewis Carroll

You put others needs before your own.  You uplift and extend compassion to others without hesitation or thought of reward.  You exude selflessness, show genuine concern and emulate integrity.  Your graciousness needs no credit or acknowledgement, it is so ingrained in who you are, it would feel wrong not to extend it when you are called to it.    And you do all of this, even when no one else is watching.  It is not something you give, hoping to fulfill some selfish agenda, or only turn on when you have spectators.

Sadly, though, you are easily taken for granted, and show so much strength, you are often forgotten when you become depleted, and it is your turn for guidance or encouragement.   And even though you are so often subject to ridicule, judgement and criticism by those who can’t fathom how one could be so generous with themselves, you continue to do “good” anyway.

You are the “helpers”, the god sent earth angels who take this world, and the people in it, to higher places.
So, this is my love letter to you, the “helpers” in my life, expressing my sincerest, deepest gratitude for the intangible gifts you bestow on others.  You are inspiring, and the true role models in this world.  You are appreciated and adored beyond words, and I am so blessed to have you in my circle.  Keep your light, shining bright.  This world would be so much darker without you.

Who are your “helpers” or “do-gooders”?  How have you honored them lately?
